i eat at the wood fired oven 3 times a week. its the best food in grottoes and no one around can hold a candle to it. the service is a 10 plus. if anyone leaves there hungry its there own fault. TRY IT YOU WILL GO BACK AND BACK AGAIN. the owner is a wonderful lady and all the servers are great and know what they are doing. you never wait on anything. it could make Ciro's take a back seat. the price is right.

Wood Fired has the best pizza I've eaten since moving from the northeast U.S. where the non-chain pizza places are owned/operated by Italians. It is especially difficult to find a pizza with a white sauce instead of a tomato sauce; their "white pizza" is wonderful.

From the Try-State area (Conn.,NY.,NJ), and Boston, Mass area... were Pizza is superior due to many places owned by children and grandchildren of Italian immigrants. Wood Fired Oven, in Grottoes ,VA. is the only Pizza restaurant in Grottoes,Va, which has very good Pizza.

I discovered this restaurant when I moved into the area. Been dining in for years now. I've never had a problem. Really like it.....

Best restaurant in the Valley. I go there all the time. Service has always been outstanding and the food is always delicious. There are generous portions and the prices are reasonable. We take the kids there all the time as well. You will NOT leave hungry.

We had two good meals (Baked Ziti Siciliano & Meat Manicotta) and good service. Lot of food for very reasonable price. Looked like a lot of repeat customers and "doggie bag" departures. If we pass thru Grottoes area again at meal time, we will definitely stop.

Best restaurant in valley by far.
I live in DC and pass through Harrisonburg, Staunton and Waynesboro frequently. From now on I will make sure I alter my route on 340 through Grottoes just so I can dine in this place.

Don't take your hungry 18 month old kid!!! I ordered my son a kids spaghetti and myself a Stromboli. I asked for his food as soon as it was ready because he was very hungry. (so hungry he kept yelling at other customers for getting their food and not his LOL) They said they would "try" but more than likely it would all come out at the same time(and it all came out at the same time). Really? Spaghetti? For an 18 month old? Why? Why? Again why? Make me wait.. Okay I'm a grown up no big deal. But make my son wait for spaghetti NO WAY!!!! Never again. I live in Grottoes and I DO NOT RECOMMEND this not kid friendly place. I will be taken my money elsewhere and suggest you do the same.
