Best place ever

Tonight, February 25, 2023, my family and I came to Calypso Bar and Grill in Virginia Beach to have a few drinks and snacks. We had a great time until their security staff decided that they would act very unprofessionally, while showing a complete disregard for my family's safety. At exactly 10pm, security personnel came to the room that we were seated in (the party room) and without saying a word, they turned the lights off on us. Not only was this a completely disrespectful and ignorant thing to do, it was also very dangerous. As I walked to the door to leave, I turned the lights back on so that my father and mother could find their way out without falling or hitting into any tables. As we left, I told the security personnel that I turned their lights back on to avoid an accident and then I asked them what if one of us were to fall and hurt ourselves and had to sue their establishment for any damages; however, the three security personnel just looked and laughed at us. Then as we were leaving, I told another Calypso staff member that was standing at the front door what had happened and instead of acting in a professional manner, he informed my family that the lights at Calypso get turned off at 10pm. This is definitely not a good response for an act of unprofessionalism. Not only will I spend my money elsewhere from now on, I will also make sure that everyone knows how Calypso Bar and Grill's security staff treats their customers.

Food is great, flavors right on not over seasoned. Hubby says bursting with flavor. Waiter was crazy busy and provided superior service. Will definitely return.
