08/28/2024 - Della M.
Went for lunch on a busy Saturday and only waited a few minutes to be seated with my group of 8. The service was friendly, albeit a bit slow, and the food was decent but not outstanding. The vibe had a classic diner/cafe feel which made the experience really enjoyable. Later on, headed to the lounge for some food and beer, and loved the Ten Pin IPA on tap as well as the delicious lemon pie. The staff was really nice, the food was good, and the overall atmosphere was great. Will definitely visit again!

I'd eaten at Bob's Cafe several times, but not in recent years, and bragged up their food to my wife and her grandmother as we were passing through Moses Lake. Boy ... the years have not been good to Bob. We had the worst service imaginable! After being seated, we waited 25 minutes before my wife inquired if our waitress had forgotten about us. Indeed, she had. She took our order and we waited another 20 minutes to receive water and food ... unfortunately, she had forgotten our salads and sides dishes so we waited even longer. The food, though, was incredibly mediocre: barely warm chicken fried steak and gravy served with only a small bowl of mixed vegetables (also barely warm). The price seemed pretty steep given that it was a small portion ... seems odd that they didn't serve the meal with potatoes and bread. Anyway, we decided to eat and leave as we had miles to go to reach our destination, but we couldn't catch the attention of our server at all. My wife again approached the front desk and they told her she'd be by shortly. She wasn't. Finally, I went to the front desk and the lady said she had the check (would have been nice if she'd have let us know since we were still waiting for the waitress). Anyway, when asked if we enjoyed the meal, I complained about the service and the quality of the food. The older lady at the front desk said the waitress was new ... I said that that shouldn't be the customer's problem. The younger lady at the front desk said it was our fault, that we should have called the manager. I told her that if they knew the waitress was incompetent, they should have told the manager themselves ... again, not the customer's problem. I thought that perhaps the cashier would offer to charge us a reduced price given our ordeal ... she did not. She was happy to charge us full price for a very inadequate dining experience. I paid, but told her that we'd definitely take our business elsewhere every time we stop in Moses Lake. I'd recommend that others do the same.
