This joint serves up some classic Appalachian comfort food that totally hits the spot! The open-faced sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy are a must, and you can't leave without trying that homemade pie with the massive meringue - it's a steal at under $4 a slice!

DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY!!! Food hit and miss. More of a miss. Wait staff slow and lazy. Manager/Owner very rude and unprofessional! Not worth your time or money!

All meals are large & the pies are homemade and awesome!!! Different owners between motel & restaurant. Free refills on drinks. Very comfortable atmosphere to have a meal. Very nice waitresses. We can't wait to go back!!!

Don't stay at the hotel, very poor management, rude, snot nose boy will cuss u out, lazy woman behind counter did not want to get us a room or even attempt to try to get us a room, this was not the first time this has happened but with no other motel in that town had no choice before but after a good cussing from snot nose squirt we left, left a 69.00 robe in the room, called back no one ever seen it, hope whoever got it enjoyed it and can wear it and sleep well at night !!!! After stealing it!!!! Never ever seen so many rednecks and dresses unprofessional in a place of business, and hamburger at the inn was burned beyond eating! Food cold! Some big mouthed floppy mouth woman came out of kitchen, she needed to stay in the kitchen, looked like something out of wrong turn!

went in for thanksgiving arrived am and the boy running nite shift cuss the women out and said shut the f-ck up and get the f-ck out and then bragged on face book about it. well call bbb today to report how rude they were and had to go and find another hotel. i do not reccomend this place foe anyone unless they get rid of there poor managers and hire decent people

I've been in the area for about 2 months. Everytime I've been in there my breaded mushrooms have been cold, the waitresses weren't doing their job, and the food hasn't been that great. Service is a major aliment to this restaurant. I have sat for over a half hour waiting for someone to acknowledge me, to bring the bill, or even to bring me a drink. Honestly don't stop there just sit on the side of the road and eat your shoe, you'll thank me...

my experience at the philippi inn was just horrible. i paid $16.00 for a seafood platter and when i got it the food tasted just aweful and i when i asked the owner if i could have something different, he said "im sorry but i paid for the food and the best thing i can tell you is to not order that the next time" i was so mad i didnt even tip the waitress who apparently had an attitude problem!

I was working in the area and staying in the motel. I decided to try their spaghetti. When I got it it was huge and I asked the waitress if it was the large, because I asked for the regular. She said no, but you should see the large. The sauce was great and the garlic bread was so good I wanted more, but couldn't hold it and had to take some home in a box.

I got a three piece chicken strip there and when i got it was not nearly done cooked and i hear from people that used to work there that the kitchen is disgusting and DANGEROUS!!

They had real turley dinners. Not sliced deli turkey but real thanksgiving type turkey and when I asked how often they have this special the waitress said 365 days its always on the menu then she pointed at the pie case and said if you think thats something check out the meringue on the home made pies,
