I will not eat here. I called at 10:20 am and asked Steve to lower the flags for Patriot Day (9/11). He said he didn't know how to work the flag pole and the owner was away. I asked if he would call the owner, and he declined. I again asked if he refuses to lower the flags for 9/11, and he plainly refused.

We had a great experience here! We were just passing through (from Greensboro, NC), and decided to stop even though the parking lot was packed. I don't usually stop if I see a place is that busy. We did wait for 15 minutes, but it was worth the wait. Delicious food, and great service! Yianni Ioannou is a hands-on owner/manager. He was everywhere, as he showed guests to their tables, wiped tables and even worked on the prep line. The menu is a nice blend of good, down home cooking, and Italian dishes. This restaurant is where the old Perkins Restaurant used to be, and the name was recently changed from "Laterna" to "College Diner". We will definitely go back on our next trip to Wilmington.
