The Leland location is widely regarded as the best spot for pizza in the area, and I can attest to that from personal experience. My family loves the eggplant and chicken Parmesan, and the owner's friendly demeanor adds to the overall enjoyable dining experience. If you're in Wilmington, make sure to visit before they close, as their pizza is truly exceptional and worth the trip from nearby towns.

North Carolina is notorious for its poor Italian restaurants. The decor at Pizzettas Pizzeria is nice. Service by waitress Dana was good. The food on 1/18/13 failed to break the stereotype.
We ordered the lobster ravioli, and the pasta with clam sauce. The waitress confirmed the ravioli was freshly made at the restaurant. We chose the chianti dressing for the salad. This dressing was the standard sweet emulsion found at corporate diners.
The entrée arrived in a cold dish. The ravioli was not steeped in the sauce so the pasta was bland. A closer look revealed freezer burn, and machine cut pasta - not fresh. The pasta texture was uneven, and the lobster was tough.
I requested a very basic substitute - meat lasagna. I suspect no boil noodles were partially responsible for the bland pasta. Sheets of noodles were coated with meat sauce and ricotta. They were then rolled into a wheel, and then buried by sauce and cheese. The meat was barely seasoned. The sauce was overly sweet, and celery imparted an odd crunch. The separate elements of meat, sauce, pasta were not complimentary.
The pasta with clam sauce had a melee of seafood scattered across the top to resemble risotto. The pasta was bland. The sauce needed lemon, and was under salted.
This restaurant grasps none of the nuances or textures of Italian cuisine.
