Got a little carried away yesterday. Sorry S&L. Go ahead and disregard/erase the previous comment. I enjoyed a satisfying breakfast at the S&L. Would come back again.

The worst breakfast I had in my life. I pulled over S. 17th thinking I'd have a simple, quick breakfast. S & L failed. Ordered 2 sunny side up eggs, grits, toast, and bacon. The most common breakfast order in America. Was horrific. To put it lightly, the equivalent of an easy bake oven and no cooking experience would have made similar, probably better food at a much more appropriate price. Aside from the ugly quality of the food in terms of taste and appearance, the restaurant atmosphere was embarrassingly amateur. 3rd grade girl scouts sell cookies more professionally. No one greeted or sat me and the waitress took 10 minutes to acknowledge I was there. Most likely because they're used to no one being there. Their bathroom was worst than a stereotypical gas station's. The waitress was unpleasant and had customer service worst than the DMV. All the food was cold and gross. The eggs were burnt and uneven and the grits were too watery. All the food was obviously made in a low quality microwave. The "restaurant" (the epitome of a lazy, hole-in-the-wall hut) was very unattractive decoratively. The whole kitchen was completely visible and the kitchen staff yelled at each other over making my toast. Any customer unfortunate enough to fall for their "food" enterprise could obviously see their dirty dishes stacked to the ceiling. The "ceiling" consisted of distasteful foam blocks that were old, outdated, and stained. The whole "establishment" smelled and lacked any competency. Their toast was stale and not toasted. Once again, if I wanted to make my own less-than-mediocre, low quality, tasteless breakfast; I would have just stayed home and ate cereal. The bigger lesson is that you shouldn't fall for the subpar hole-in-the-wall, strangely positioned and unintelligently located sham on the side of the road. Trust your instincts, the S&L will disappoint. Deserves no stars, aka worst than terrible, but the website won't permit it.

Always great food, great service...great atmosphere...they could be nicer to Red Sox fans, though. Just a suggestion! ;o)

S&L Deli is a great restaurant-- The food is always very good, the people are friendly, and it is a convenient location. My BLT was awesome today! Thanks so much for being here!

S&L deli is the the best deli in the U.S..What makes it so good is the food but also the employees/owners. Thanks to steve,tamie,katie,and the one we all know best louie/jhonny lol. Thanks for everything you all are the best :)~

Love it! Eat here several times a week and have never had anything less than great! Wonderful staff, family run establishment. Daily specials are really good and they change it up all the time. Love it love it love it! Would recommend it to anyone.

This place is great! Our office orders from here all the time. It's very convenient and they deliver! Breakfast or lunch it's always delicious.

i go here 2 or 3 times a week. they have soup and half sandwich special with fresh homemade soups. it is family owned and operated and the people are very friendly. i recommend it to anyone!

Great neighborhood deli with consistent food and interesting combinations - and the breakfast sure beats a fast food restaurant. Chicken salad is a favorite and all the sandwiches and wraps are first rate.
