Great food!
07/14/2015 - anonymous
I grew up eating food from Fiddleheads in Theinsville. The food used to be great, and you could see them preparing your sandwich in the kitchen. The food was great- it was fresh, flavorful, and oh!- The hazelnut bread was to die for.
Within the past few years, they have expanded, opening locations around the North shore area. After the new cafes (and a bakery/roastery) were built, the quality of the food dropped SIGNIFICANTLY. All sandwiches are now premade- and are nothing special. Very skimpy on actual items used (the grilled cheese barely has enough cheese for you to even know it's there).
Although some items on the menu are still pretty decent, good luck getting them after 4 o'clock. I frequent Fiddleheads on the regular- I go with someone almost daily because he likes to sit outside. We arrive anywhere from 4-7pm... and are told that they are out of soup or can't serve it because it's too late. We go through the menu until we find something that they are not out of (everything is premade, so quantities are limited), which usually takes about 4 tries to find an item they still have. The food is okay nowdays, but quite the step down from what they used to serve.
I am writing this in hopes that someone in management will see it. It's one thing to premade sandwiches to save money on having to employ someone to prepare your food. If you want to sacrifice quality to save money, that's your choice. But to run out of half of your menu nearly almost every day? Why is it that it is summer and you are OUT of iced coffee a few times a week? The sad part is I still come to this location, regardless of all of the issues. Part of the reason is because I really want Fiddleheads to become the cafe the used to be. Please just get it together.
