The food here was excellent, clearly prepared with care and attention. Our server, Jamie, was attentive and provided a variety of beverages, while the homemade dishes, including corned beef hash and tri-tip sirloin, exceeded expectations.

Fresh baked goods are delicious! Loaded oatmeal is the best I ever had! Jamie and everyone's so nice and make you feel welcome! I have enjoyed having breakfast here every day while on vacation!

We vacation in Cable, Wisc (approx. 30 min. North of Hayward) at least once a year and always make a stop at the Cable Cafe. The food has that "homemade" taste and the wait staff is always pleasant. I would not suggest you go there if you are in a hurry. Sometimes we get our food in a timely manner, but most times it is a lengthy wait. They even post a sign that says they are not a fast-food restaurant. If you have a positive outlook, the waiting gives you time to sit back and talk with your dinning buddies, and the coffee is good and cups refilled without asking. It seats 26 people, but the spacing between tables is a little tight. It was once an ice cream shop called the Swirl Inn and has changed names and owners several times.
