Their breakfast is always perfect with large servings, friendly staff, and a great soup and salad bar, but the loud patrons at the bar can sometimes ruin the experience.

don't order anything that is served on a sizzle plate unless you want to see and taste burned food.

i keep going back because of the salad bar.

I ordered a chopped sirloin, got a over cooked burger pattie. Not good.

The waitress was friendly and efficient and the salad bar was fresh. But, it went downhill from there. I had Steak and Shrimp while my son had the French Dip. The shrimp were huge but overly breaded with a gritty cornmeal breading. My steak would have been excellent if not for the lack of sear. It appeared and tasted as if it had been cooked under low heat as it had an unappetizing grey appearance. It was still edible but I would rate it below average. The French Dip was cold and mostly fat and gristle, which my son couldn't eat. A complaint to the waitress brought out the owner who proclaimed the sandwich was "fine" and there was nothing he could do for us.

I am a local who has eaten at Donnie's many times. I have always had a great breakfast there, but my dinner experiences had always been disappointing. This is not the first time I have had a poor dinner at Donnie's, but it certainly the last.
