I am not sure what the previous 2 reviews are all about. Judging by what they said in the reviews...I'm honestly not sure if they were in Dagwoods in West Boylston.
First off, this is obviously a family owed restaurant and I have never had anything but positive experiences with the owners and the workers. Often when I am waiting for my food (which I usually just order when I go there, because it is prepared so quickly) I talk to the owner about sports or everyday chit chat. He's a very friendly guy and always has me laughing before I leave.
Second, this is some of the best food in the area. The cold cuts are fresh, nothing is ever soggy. The pizza on the new menu is the best! Far better than the pizza place across the street that I used to go to... who may I add used to burn the top of the pizzas. And the fish and chips at Dagwoods are so good and fresh... I am hooked!
Take it for what it's worth and you can all make your own decisions... but I personally would not listen to the 2 reviews prior to mine. Like I said... the people who work there are always friendly to me, it's a down to earth, family owned restaurant. The food is the freshest, best tasting in the area. Two thumbs up for Dagwoods!

I decided to try this place out when I first moved to the area. The restaurant had sent a mailer with a coupon for a buy one meal, get one free deal. So, my husband and I went, ordered our meals, and when we gave them the paper THEY mailed us, they told us they were no longer honoring the coupon, even though the expiration date was still one month away. Needless, to say, we weren't happy that they wouldn't even honor their own mailer...looks like they were just trying to attract new customers. News flash, you can't attract a customer to come in and then not make them happy or even satisfied!!! We never went back. Our food wasn't great anyway...plenty of better places to eat. Not the smartest business sense in an economy where creativity and positive customer service are key.

I'd been here before and the food is fine. The reason I'm posting a scathing review however has to do with the terrible customer service by the owner/manager. The shop was kind of busy but he was harping on one of the ladies working in the grill. He was basically telling her she was stupid and worthless and was letting his emotions get the better of him. At one point he threw some tongs across the kitchen near the other girl working the counter. The thing that put me over the edge where I knew I had to say something on behalf of the women allowing themselves to be treated this way by an ogre boss was when he told the lady in the kitchen that "no one can hear me... none of the customers care, they're all busy watching TV and eating..." Well, I guess I was invisible because I was sitting directly in front of the counter waiting for my take out. Once it was ready, I said loudly, "for the record, I could hear you and you ought to be ashamed of yourself for treating your employees this way in the first place not to mention a customer witnessed your bad behavior." I called him an ogre and a mean man and told him I wouldn't be back. Now, it's my mission to make sure others know this has the facade of being a family restaurant but is clearly not! The owner set a really bad example for how good people should behave and was quite inequitable to his employees. I can't sit by and not say something about an injustice like that.
