The restaurant we visited had generous portions and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reminded me of days gone by. Despite traveling in our RV, we were able to easily park in the spacious lot next to the hotel and enjoy a satisfying meal served by friendly staff.

We thought the Ox-Bow was closing, we were rushed by the waitperson and not given a comfortable time to review the menu. It was 4:00 in the afternoon and the place was empty. I ordered a beer and the waitperson quickly returned with my drink. I still hadn't time to fully review the menus. Seems like I was pressured into quickly making a choice. I made my choice and it was only valued at a one. They cleared my wife's plates and utensils and when she returned from the all-you-can-eat salad bar "no utensils " and no body cared. The waitperson dropped off our check as quickly as we were greeted. We have traveled 5000 miles and this is the first restaurant we didn't feel like guests more like the in-law you didn't invite to dinner. Just another life experience. I can promise we will never be back.

Have eaten breakfast twice a years since 1995 and aside from the worst HotCakes in the World everything else on the menu and service has been outstanding.

The oxbow has a large menu with terrific food and service I recommend this restaurant !!

This restaurant has always been mediocre at best for food, and the worst for service. But in the town of Lander, service doesn't mean much. We generally go there ONLY to drink coffee and because it is the only smoking restaurant in town.

Occasionally we eat. Tonight I took my son there for dinner. Something special you know. I ordered a double burger, he ordered a philly cheese steak. Ok, we accepted that they didn't have any green peppers to put in the cheese steak sandwich. It's par for the course, and don't expect any kind of discount for their lack of ingredients.

The waitress delivered our food at a near sprint and slide, and gone. So the hair that was fried to my french fry had to sit for her to come back. My son noticed it first, and grabbed it. I smacked his hand and it fell onto the burger itself.

So waitress returns and I have to nab her to get her stop. I show her, she scoops up the plate and goes to the kitchen with it. 2 mintues later, a new plate is delivered. Or what appears to be a new plate. I place the top on my burger and slice it in half and eat that half.

Then I turn the plate to begin on the other half and fries and there, ON THE BOTTOM side of the burger is the very same hair. They simply took my plate to the kitchen, flipped things over, re-plated the food, and returned it to me.

Now having a meal served with a hair is indeed not good, but can be forgiven. Albeit none of the staff wear hats or nets, so it's a probable situation. BUT TO RE-SERVE THAT SAME HAIR IS INEXCUSABLE!!!!

I went to the front counter with my plate to show the cook, no cook, so I went through the doors to the kitchen, no cooks. The waitress met me in the doorway and began berating me and denying the situation as I shoved the plate into her chest and left the restaurant.

This waitress has worked in this restaurant for YEARS as have several of the others and most of the cooks. So I do believe this behavior cannot be isolated to this one incident and would not recommend that anyone trust their food to be safe or clean. The staff clearly have no ethics to make it or keep it so and the management clearly has no problem with her staff either.
